Read manual completely, twice!
If new:
Break-in: Dry fire only. Drop pressure to just under 200 psi (width of the needle), rear velocity adjustment 1 turn out, turn eyes off and run a bottle or 2 through the marker. This will break in your reg, continued use will break the reg in more and constistancey will increase. After your done, de-air the marker and remove, clean, relube and re-install the bolt guide assembley.
Use: Set pressure to no higher than 200 psi (mine is set to 190), turn your rear adjust to 3/4-1 turn out. You can adjust your dwell if you want, but stock dwell is fine 7ms (28 blinks). Adjust trigger to your liking. Take marker to field, chrono to 285 fps. Point barrel toward other team and pull trigger....repeat last process until enemy is eliminated.
Mods:
Barrel; I've never cared for any stock barrel. I use a Lapco single piece, but it is loader than most. If you want a quieter barrel, Lucky 15, Pepper Stick, Lapco Snap Shot or Smart Parts Freak....really that is up to you and your finances.
Trigger magent; Go to Radio Shack get a little rare earth magent (comes in 2 pack), place one on the frame magnet. This does 2 things removes most of the trigger slop and causes your trigger to return faster. Costs $2.50 + tax.
Boards; Problem with the stock board is that it uses volitile memory, so when you remove the battery, it take the gun back to default settings. It is a aftermarket board upgrade worth it, again up to you. For me it was, I have a APE board, whcih allows me to fine tune my marker. It is one of 2 boards that allow you to adjust the auto shut off function. The other is Seventh Element. Either board is good, but it all depends what you looking for. There are a few other boards out there, but they have limitations, such as auto shut off in 10 minutes if no shot is fired and the Virtue is very expensive.
Bolt; Don't waste you money....that is all I'll say.
Dress-up mods; for me, not worth the money.
Hope that helps!

BTW, if you plan on running your HPA bottle on the gun, I would "HIGHLY" suggest you get a NDZ On/Off adapter. It will make getting the bottle off the gun very easy verses a pain in the arse.
I run a remote so I don't need one.
