I showed up at about noon due to problems and it was a ghost town. I was wondering what happened so I called up my friend and comes to find out noone showed up? I personally think it was because of lack of advertising. Shouldve put airsoft every Saturday under "airsoft" on the site. Also on the calender as a airsoft walk on.

You are correct that no one showed up.
Actually, we posted on MAAPR to advertise the event over 6 weeks ago. But, if you know of any sites we should have posted on that would be most help.
One must remember that this field is a paintball field first and foremost and we were attempting to reconnect with the Airsoft community. In the end we are reevaluating the walk on event and will not do it again until spring. In the interim, if someone from the Airsoft community wish to put together an event, Avery would be willing to open it up.

I like the news about airsoft but it looks like the news is having a little difficulty spreading. I am a father with 3 boys and used to play paintball. I got tired of the expensive messy paintballs and giant welts. I switched to airsoft and love it! I have started a Facebook page called "Gloucester Airsoft" www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Gloucester-Airsoft/139988396062874. It is for anyone in Gloucester or the surrounding area that wants to meet for airsoft in Gloucester or New Kent. Meeting dates will be announced with rsvps so that no one shows up to a "ghost town". Spread the word and join / like. |
