I need to replace the regulator on my tank. I bought the biggest strap wrench they sold at Home Depot and it has a 17in strap. It went around the tank but not enough for the wrench to tighten. Does anyone have a strap wrench with a longer strap that I can borrow? I am coming to play on the 18th.

Here's an idea..... I don't know the dimensions of the strap, however, I wonder if you could take an old belt and feed it in place of the strap and use that Almost willing to bet it would work. For that matter.... if you have a flat rubber bungee cord laying around, you could use that.

When you do get a wrench, I would strongly suggest placing the tank neck/reg in hot water to heat the joint (loosen the thread sealant) prior to removing the regulator to prevent thread galling. I found this out too late (from the tank mfg) AFTER the fact. Both tank and regulator threads were ruined of course.
